After July's record rainfall the summer continued very wet with another record broken for rainfall in August. The summer was a complete washout!

A total of 5.01" (127.25mm) fell during the month with a total of 25 wet days, 2 days more than in July. Only 4 days out of the entire month saw no rainfall at all. With the rain spread out over so many days the daily totals weren't that high with most rainfall being recorded on the 3rd with 0.57" (14.48mm).

Here are the August rainfall figures for 2009 and previous years:

Year Total Rainfall
2009 5.01"
2008 3.76"
2007 2.74"
2006 1.08"
2005 1.67"
