Page 5 of 13 AprilApril continued the overall mild trend with the mean daily maximum above the average, however the mean daily minimum was at the average of 4.2°C. Despite this the mean temperature for the month was 8.4°C, 0.7&def;C above the 30 year average of 7.7°C. There was one air frost recorded during the month. Rainfall during April made up for the previous two dry months with a total of 4.96" (125.98mm) making it the second wettest month of 2005 in terms of volume. There were 21 days recording rainfall during the month with 15 days recording more than 0.04" (1mm), an increase of 50% on the average; and 9 days recording more than 0.20" (5mm), an increase of more than 100% on the average. All in all a wet month. We had the first thunder of 2005 recorded on the 19th and hail recorded on 5 days. There was fog on three days. |
