March

March was again a mild month with the mean daily maximum into double figures at 10.73°C and a mean for the month of 7.8°C, still not as mild as January's mean of 7.94°C. March was again a dry month with only 2.36" (59.94mm) of rain compared with the average of 3.89" (98.81mm); the maximum daily rainfall was only 0.74" (18.80mm). In 2004 March was the wettest month of the year with 5.96" (151.38mm) of rain.

There were no gales recorded in March which had a top wind speed of 35mph. It was also the foggiest month with 4 days recording fog.
