Page 3 of 13 FebruaryFebruary was a good deal cooler than January; but still milder than the average. The coldest temperature of 2005 was recorded on the 28th at -4.0°C. February was also a very dry month with a total rainfall of only 1.23" (31.24mm) compared with the average rainfall of 4.55" (115.57mm) making it the driest month of 2005. The maximum daily rainfall was a paltry 0.23" (5.84mm) and only 15 days recorded rainfall with 9 of these over 0.04" (1mm) and only 2 over 0.20" (5mm).
This was the second windiest month of the year with gales on 3 days and a top speed of 44mph (19.6Kts). The 13th was the windiest day of the year with a wind run of 387.84 miles and an average wind speed for the day of 16.5mph. Snow was recorded on two days. |
