October

October was a very wet month and the wettest month of the year. Temperatures stayed up well with a minimum above freezing at 0.3°C and a mean maximum 1.5° above the mean at 14.52°C. In all the month had only 8 days with a mean temperature below 10°C with the 13th being then coolest day since 19th April with a mean of 6.7°C.

The month had rain recorded on 24 days with 20 days recording more than 0.04" (1mm) and 11 days recording more than 0.20" (5mm). With heavy rainfall recorded on so many days the total for the month reached 7.54" (191.52mm), well in excess of the average of 4.94" (125.48mm). 

October also had the first gale force winds recorded since April with a top wind speed of 39mph on the 27th.
