The first 11 days of the month were wet days; but this was followed by a dry spell from the 14th to the 24th when wet weather started again. The last 5 days of the month saw 2.7" (6.86cm) of rain which is more than the average for the previous 4 years.

 Snow in Clonakilty The 1st of February saw something that's becoming increasingly rare in West Cork; snow. The first shower moved through around 10:30 and deposited large wet clumps of snow. This was followed during the afternoon by colder and better developed showers of 'real' snow. This is only the 8th day I've recorded snowfall at Tullig. The other dates being: 25th December 2004 21st February 2005 23rd February 2005 28th February 2005 28th February 2006 16th March 2006 18th March 2007

After the record low temperature recorded on the 4th at 05:20 the temperature rose rapidly through the morning as a front approached. The front was accompanied by heavy rain and very strong winds which reached a record for the month of 47mph (75.6KPH, 40.9 Knots), a strong gale. The wind brought down some small branches and the rain resulted in localised flooding in the area.
