January 10th 2010 saw one of those fairly rare weather events for West Cork - snow. A light but continuous fall starting around 12:30 it was quick to lay to the already frozen ground. The previously recorded snow fall here was 2nd February 2008.

November 2009 continued the wet theme started back in the summer by breaking the all time wettest month record.
Not just broke it - smashed it completely.
In November 2009 we had a total of 10.23" (259.8mm) of rain, the previous record being August's 5.01" (127.25mm) - we had more than double the previous record.
During the month there were only 3 days with no rain recorded at all and a total of 25 "wet" days (i.e. days with more than 0.02" of rain).
The month started with the first 7 days being wet with no rainfall on the 8th and 10th. Reasonable amounits of rain then fell from the 11th to 18th giving a total of 4.29" (109mm) over those 7 days. This was followed by a whopping 2.15" (54.6mm) on the 19th causing massive flooding in West Cork with Bandon and Cork City being particularly badly hit. This made the 19th November 20098 the wettest day on record, beating the previous date of 7th January 2005 when 2.03" (51.6mm) of rain fell.
Here's the chart of daily rainfall for the month:

After July's record rainfall the summer continued very wet with another record broken for rainfall in August. The summer was a complete washout!
A total of 5.01" (127.25mm) fell during the month with a total of 25 wet days, 2 days more than in July. Only 4 days out of the entire month saw no rainfall at all. With the rain spread out over so many days the daily totals weren't that high with most rainfall being recorded on the 3rd with 0.57" (14.48mm).
Here are the August rainfall figures for 2009 and previous years:
| Year | Total Rainfall |
| 2009 |
5.01" |
| 2008 |
3.76" |
| 2007 |
2.74" |
| 2006 |
1.08" |
| 2005 |
1.67" |

Whilst July 2008 saw record rainfall for that month here at Tullig, July 2009 has knocked that into a cocked hat breaking the record again by a wide margin. This July saw a monthly total rainfall of 5.25" (133.35mm) - that's wet even for a winter month; but in summer it constitutes a wash out.
During July 2009 we had 23 wet days (that's days with 0.02" (1mm) or more of rain), this compares with only 14 wet days in 2008.
In July 2009 we had only 3 consecutive days without rain, from the 7th to the 9th whereas in July 2008 we had 11 days with no rain at all from the 11th to the 24th with most of the rain concentrated in the first week and last 5 days of the month.
The wettest day this July was the 11th with 1.41" (35.81mm), however this is still short of the all time wettest July day which was the 24th July 2005 when 1.61" (40.89mm) fell on that day.
Here's a break down of rainfall over the years I've been recording here at Tullig:
| Year | Total Rainfall | Wet Days | Wettest Day |
| 2009 |
5.25" |

1.41" |
| 2008 |
